We are a local disability law firm seeking a dedicated and compassionate Legal Assistant to join our team. This is a full-time, in-office position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about helping others.
Position Overview:
The Legal Assistant will provide vital administrative support to attorneys and staff while serving as a key point of contact for clients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of multitasking efficiently while managing multiple phone lines and data entry tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interact professionally and empathetically with clients in person and over the phone
- Answer and manage multiple phone lines
- Scan, upload, and organize documents into digital files
- Process incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and faxes
- Schedule appointments and maintain calendars
- Prepare case files for hearings
- Order and submit medical records
- Pay invoices and prepare routine correspondence
- Monitor and restock office supplies
- Assist with general office upkeep
- Support additional tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Team-oriented with a positive flexible attitude
- Prior office experience preferred
- Medical knowledge is a plus, but not required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Gmail/Outlook, Mac
Job Details:
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Location: On-site, local office
Compensation: Pay based on experience
