Legal Assistant

We are a local disability law firm seeking a dedicated and compassionate Legal Assistant to join our team. This is a full-time, in-office position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about helping others.

Position Overview:

The Legal Assistant will provide vital administrative support to attorneys and staff while serving as a key point of contact for clients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of multitasking efficiently while managing multiple phone lines and data entry tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interact professionally and empathetically with clients in person and over the phone
  • Answer and manage multiple phone lines
  • Scan, upload, and organize documents into digital files
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and faxes
  • Schedule appointments and maintain calendars
  • Prepare case files for hearings
  • Order and submit medical records
  • Pay invoices and prepare routine correspondence
  • Monitor and restock office supplies
  • Assist with general office upkeep
  • Support additional tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team-oriented with a positive flexible attitude
  • Prior office experience preferred
  • Medical knowledge is a plus, but not required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Gmail/Outlook, Mac

Job Details:

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Location: On-site, local office
Compensation: Pay based on experience
